After busy start to summer, Fredericton Lady Foxes on their turf for provincial tourney

For more than a four years, Katie Boudreau, Sam Slipp and Morgan MacGregor have had their lives intertwined.

They have played softball together for years, suiting up for many games. They have also attended school together.

Considering all that time together, they are still close friends.
“We mesh really well,” Boudreau said.

Two weeks away, the Lady Foxes from Leo Hayes High School are together once again for the Provincial Midget Girls Orthodox Tournament.

The tournament is one of the marquee events of the summer for Midget Girls softball. It draws teams from all over the province.

The event gets under way on Saturday August 14th with all games being played at Henry Field on the North Side.

“It’s kind of cool because we’ve played with each other for a really long time,” said MacGregor. “It’s cool to keep playing with the same people you know and making friendships.”

The 2010 Midget Orthodox Provincials will run from Saturday, August 14th  through Sunday, August 15th. The event has a provincial championship flavor and level of competition.
